Don Hastings is the director of planned giving and senior stewardship officer at Trevecca Nazarene University, a private Christian liberal arts college in Nashville, Tennessee.
With the university embarking on a $75 million comprehensive campaign, Don spends most of his time on the road meeting with alumni and donors. He took some time to share how he’s using EverTrue to find new visits and move closer to his individual goal: raising $25 million over the next five years.

“I would have to request a data pull of constituents in whatever city I was going to, which could take a while. Then I would have to write down the list of people I wanted to see on a legal pad or print out the list. It was cumbersome to deal with spreadsheets and loose paper on the road.”“I was coming back from an appointment in Chicago and was about to head to Cincinnati. While sitting at a stop light, I got on the EverTrue app and punched in Cincinnati. Before the light changed to green, the app had already shown me all of our constituents in that area.
These images display mock data.
I knew about five or six of those Cincinnati people, so I called them up and asked if they’d be interested in dinner together—and they were. I would have never been able to do that so quickly without EverTrue. The app made it so convenient to access donor info from the palm of my hand. Just from that, I was sold on EverTrue.”
