Last week our team came across the genius that is Fundraiser Grrl, a hilarious Tumblr full of non-profit themed gifs and memes. From donor database woes to the undeniable joy of a handwritten thank you note, Fundraiser Grrl is spot on in capturing “a the day in the life” of the modern fundraiser.
For Rory Green, a Senior Development Officer at BCIT, the inspiration to launch the tumblr was obvious. “Fundraisers are some of the best people I know,” she explained, “they are kind, smart, outgoing, generous and funny.” Rory started Fundraiser Grrl to “bring a little joy to a group of people who spend so much of their time making other people happy,” and to create a “little corner of the internet, where fundraisers could come and laugh, and have one big inside joke.”
Well, Rory, we think you’ve succeeded.

One of the reasons Fundraiser Grrl has seen such an explosion in posts is because many of the ideas are crowdsourced. Rory encourages fellow fundraisers submit their own ideas to her (no need to include a GIF, just a situation and the emotional response!) and she’ll put it into action.
