With ThankView’s Help, Hawai’i Pacific University Makes Their Remote Commencement Personal

With COVID-19 forcing commencement to go virtual, HPU wanted to make sure their graduating seniors still had an unforgettable experience.

Using ThankView’s video requests feature, HPU staff reached out to the institution’s faculty to share their memories and well wishes with students. Faculty were paired with students who they had a personal connection with – making each message a special reminder of the student’s time at the institution.

This program was piloted with the first remote commencement and 256 unique videos and messages were sent out – but by the second commencement HPU was able to scale to 547 personalized messages! Students were floored, and many of them downloaded the videos as reminders of the experience.
