BOSTON, Mass. (September 18, 2018) – As the University of Virginia embarks on a $5 billion fundraising campaign, they have expanded their partnership with software provider EverTrue to help the institution’s advancement team work more efficiently and intelligently towards fundraising goals. Announced earlier this year, Honor the Future: The Campaign for the University of Virginia will advance the priorities of every school and program within the institution and strengthen core priorities including faculty, fellowships, student access and affordability.
“This campaign will usher UVA into a third century of service,” said Julie Featherstone, assistant vice president for advancement operations at the University of Virginia. “As we embark on this exciting next chapter and build upon cross-university collaborations, it is important that we are embracing the most modern tools to meet our goals. For that reason, UVA has elected to take an enterprise approach with EverTrue to help us shape our forward direction together. EverTrue is providing valuable insights that allow our partners across Grounds to engage alumni, parents and friends based on their interests.”
Founded in 2010 by CEO Brent Grinna, EverTrue is the leading advancement automation software; a technology that combines real-time insights and best-in-class integrations to give advancement professionals the ability to meet constituents where they are and engage them in meaningful conversations based on an individual’s interests and preferences. Through powerful integrations with Facebook, LinkedIn, Zillow, Google and more, EverTrue surfaces the full story behind each constituent, offering advancement teams modern data and tools to engage alumni, raise support and measure team progress all in a user-friendly user interface.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with the University of Virginia and help them on their journey to $5 billion,” said Grinna. “As a first-generation college student, I founded EverTrue to help students around the world gain access to a first-rate education. I am inspired that our team will be working closely with UVA’s advancement team to drive support for this campaign as its core principles so deeply align with EverTrue’s mission to build relationships in pursuit of a better world.”
Since partnering in 2015, EverTrue has helped the University of Virginia advance core fundraising initiatives, including funding two $3MM professorships for the school’s largest foundation, the College for Arts and Sciences. By harnessing Facebook data from EverTrue, UVA was able to expand their marketing reach and target constituents that had been positively impacted by those particular professors, resulting in the institution’s first-ever successfully crowdsourced endowment.
“We think EverTrue is really ahead of the curve,” said Deke Shrum, senior director digital, advancement operations at the University of Virginia. “They are dedicated to this industry and deliver technology that is modern, fresh and easy to use for our researchers and officers in the field. They’re not trying to build software that already exists, they’re leveraging the best tools available and helping us aggregate data in ways that are very valuable and consumable.”
EverTrue is improving fundraising results for more than 300 partners ranging from public and private universities, to liberal arts colleges, to graduate and independent schools. The company is backed by University Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures.
