Information We Collect:
When you interact with us through the Services, we may collect Personal Data and other information from you, as further described below.
Testimonials: We collect and display personal testimonials of satisfied customers and users on the Services in addition to other endorsements. With your consent, we may post your testimonial along with your name on the Services. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us at email@example.com.
Personal Data You Provide about Others; Personal Data Collected through Other Sources: We collect Personal Data about our customers’ contacts, such as general directory information from alumni databases, graduation year and historical giving data, directly from our customers. We also collect Personal Data about our customers’ contacts and users of the Services through various publicly available sources, including the United States Census, various Third-Party Sites (as defined below) and Social Media Services (as defined below), in accordance with such third parties’ privacy policies, as applicable. Please note that we collect Personal Data about our customers’ contacts under the direction of our customers and have no relationship with the customers’ contacts whose Personal Data we process on behalf of our customers, unless such contacts have independently registered as users of the Community app or other services made available through the Services.
As a Community user, you may submit corrections or updates regarding other Community users’ information.
Public Profile; Access to Personal Data Provided by our Customers: Profile information for customers’ contacts and users of the Services will be publicly accessible and viewable in our directory and on the Services. If you are a contact of one of our customers and would like to request removal of an unauthorized profile or deletion or deactivation of a profile, please contact our customer directly.
A customer or other registered user may request the removal, deletion or deactivation of a profile such customer or user has created by contacting EverTrue at firstname.lastname@example.org. You understand that some profile information may remain on publicly viewable areas of the Services if it is publicly available information or another user has provided it in connection with such users’ use of the Services, and that profile information may remain on our servers or in our records after it is no longer viewable by other users of the Service.
We may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the service agreements with our customer.
EverTrue has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to EverTrue’s customer (the data controller). If requested to remove data we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
We will retain personal data we process on behalf of our customers for as long as needed to provide services to our customers. EverTrue will retain this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Data from Mobile Devices: When you download and use our Services through an application installed on a mobile device, we automatically collect information on the type of device, operating system version and the device identifier (or “UDID”).
Geo-Location Data: We collect your location-based information for the purpose of assisting you in locating places of interest and identifying contacts or other users of the Services who live or work in your geographic area. For example, a GivingTree user may view prospective donors and a Community user may locate fellow alumni users of the Services in a given city or neighborhood. We will share your location-based information with our mapping provider for the sole purpose of providing you with this service. You may opt-out of location based services at any time by editing the setting at the device level or by emailing us at email@example.com.
Non-Identifiable Data: When you interact with EverTrue through the Services, we receive and store certain personally non-identifiable information. Such information, which is collected passively using various technologies, cannot presently be used to specifically identify you. We may store such information ourselves or such information may be included in databases owned and maintained by EverTrue affiliates, agents or service providers. We may use such information and pool it with other information to track, for example, the total number of visitors to our Services, the number of visitors to each page of our Site, the location from which the Services are being used and the domain names of our visitors’ Internet service providers. We may combine this passively-collected information with other information we collect about you, including Personal Data, to customize content or to otherwise improve the Services.
Mobile Analytics: We use mobile analytics software to allow us to better understand the functionality of our mobile application on your device. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregated usage data, performance data and from which service you downloaded the application. We do not link the information we store within the analytics software to any Personal Data you submit within the mobile app.
Log Files: As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP) information, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and/or clickstream data. We do not link this automatically collected data to other information we collect about you.

Aggregated Personal Data: In an ongoing effort to better understand and serve the users of or visitors to the Services, EverTrue often conducts research on our user demographics, interests and behavior based on the Personal Data and other information provided to us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis, and EverTrue may share this aggregate data with our affiliates, agents and business partners. This aggregate information does not identify you personally. EverTrue may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our Services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
Behavioral Targeting: We partner with third parties to display advertising in connection with the Services and manage our advertising on other sites. Our third-party partners may use technologies such as cookies to gather information about your activities on the Services and other sites in order to provide you with advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you interest-based ads, you may opt-out by clicking here (or, if you are located in the European Union, by clicking here). Please note this does not opt you out of being served ads. You will continue to receive generic ads.
Our Use of Your Personal Data and Other Information:
Push Notifications: We may occasionally send you push notifications through our mobile applications to provide you with updates and other service-related notifications that may be of importance to you. You may at any time opt-out from receiving these types of communications by turning them off at the device level through your settings.
Our Disclosure of Your Personal Data and Other Information:
EverTrue is not in the business of selling your information. We consider this information to be a vital part of our relationship with you and our customers. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data and the Personal Data you provide about others with certain third parties without further notice to you, as set forth below:
Third-Party Services: When you use EverTrue Community, GivingTree or other applications through the Services and submit name, email address or location information about yourself or other individuals, we may share such information with and derive additional information from third-party services to facilitate the delivery of the Services. For example, we use LinkedIn to determine employment and professional information, Facebook to determine an individual’s affinity towards an EverTrue customer and a mapping service provider to display your current location or locations you may visit.
Business Transfers: As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Services of any change in ownership or any material changes in uses of Personal Data, as well as any choices you may have regarding your Personal Data.
Agents, Consultants and Related Third Parties: EverTrue, like many businesses, sometimes hires other companies to perform certain business-related functions. Examples of such functions include mailing information, maintaining databases, sending emails and SMS messages, performing maintenance and security operations and processing payments. When we employ another company to perform a function of this nature, we only provide such company with the information that it needs to perform its specific function.
Legal Requirements: EverTrue may disclose Personal Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation or assist government enforcement agencies, (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of EverTrue or our users, (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Services or the public, (iv) protect against legal liability or (v) protect the security or integrity of the Services.
Other than the specific disclosures noted above, EverTrue will not sell, license, distribute or otherwise provide Personal Data to any third party.
You can use the Services without providing any Personal Data. If you choose not to provide any Personal Data, you may not be able to use certain Services.

Referral. If you choose to forward a position or job opening on our careers page, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him to apply for the job position. EverTrue stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.
Your friend may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request that we remove this information from our database.
EverTrue takes reasonable steps to protect the Personal Data provided via the Services from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the Personal Data submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We encrypt the transmission of this information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). However, no Internet, email, mobile or other electronic transmission is ever fully secure or error-free. In particular, email sent to or from the Services may not be secure. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via email. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any Personal Data to EverTrue via the Internet.

Access to Information; Contacting EverTrue:
If the information that you have provided through the Services changes, or if you no longer desire to access or use the Services, you may correct, update, amend, delete/remove (or ask to have deleted/removed) any such information from a public forum, directory or testimonial on our Services by making the change through your account or by requesting our removal of such information or deactivation of your account by contacting us at the contact information listed below. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
We will retain your information, including your geo-location data, for as long as your account is active or as is needed to provide you with access to the Services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
