St. Paul’s Achieves School’s Highest Participation and $1 Million Challenge Gift With EverTrue

In just two weeks, the EverTrue platform brought in 300 gifts and $8,700 dollars to close out the campaign. St. Paul’s was able to achieve 54.5% participation—up 10% from the previous fiscal year and the highest in the school’s history—and secured a $1 million challenge gift.

The Full Story

With an ambitious participation goal of 50%, a $1 million gift at stake, and two weeks to go, the St. Paul’s School advancement team was on the clock to close out the annual fund. Using EverTrue, the team ran searches to create prioritized lists of the 4,000 best alumni to reach. Among other criteria, the EverTrue lists ranked the prospects based on powerful data points like Facebook engagement and giving history.

The team then launched an email campaign targeted at these high-potential prospects, providing the link to a new donation page powered by EverTrue. With the page’s mobile and user-friendly interface, donors could complete their gift in seconds without the hassle of filling out pages of information.

The EverTrue process also enabled St. Paul’s to track the performance of the giving page with real-time, full funnel analytics. A dashboard gave the team increased visibility into who was and was not giving, helping them strategically close the gap on participation at the most critical time of the campaign.

The result? St. Paul’s exceeded their participation goal, leading to a generous challenge gift and an annual fund record-high of more than $6.8 million. The incredible outcome of the campaign put St. Paul’s at #1 for annual participation in the Independent School League (ISL), a group of 16 peer institutions that compete every year.

We’ve never been competitive in the ISL, but thanks to EverTrue, our alumni participation was highest among this very strong group of peer schools. No one had expected us to come out on top.

Bonus Success Story

Due to the success of the #OneInAMillion campaign, the St. Paul’s team has chosen to replace their legacy online giving system with EverTrue’s online giving platform. Most recently, for a weeklong campaign called Love Your School, EverTrue helped St. Paul’s exceed their goal of 864 gifts—one for every student, faculty, and staff member at the school.

Using EverTrue to power their online giving, St. Paul’s experienced the following successes:

  • A 66% conversion rate of visitors to donors.
  • Over 562 donors and $112,000 in donations brought in through EverTrue
  • 64% of donors sent in their gifts online, with the rest giving through other means
